National Pump & Compressor Prepares for Tropical Storm Karen

Oct. 4, 2013

National Pump & Compressor LTD, a national equipment rental, sales and service provider, is executing a companywide mobilization strategy in preparation for Tropical Storm Karen, due to hit the Gulf Coast this weekend. Tropical Storm Karen will be the company’s fourth major natural disaster relief effort in 14 months. All 31 locations of the Beaumont, Texas-based company are transporting pumps, generators, light towers and thousands of feet of hose to NPC’s New Orleans branch.

“A mobilization job of this magnitude can be logistically challenging,” said NPC president Bill Kiker. “Over the past year and a half, our branches have become increasingly prepared to undertake this effort. In preparation for natural disasters, the NPC team employs an ‘all-hands-on-deck’ policy. Everyone works together to support the branch closest to the disaster. Our goal is for the branch closest to the disaster to be fully equipped to deliver products and services that will help the community prepare and recover.”

“Many owners and managers don’t realize that much of the flood damage caused by severe weather like Tropical Storm Karen can be reduced or avoided altogether by calling us before the storm,” added Gulf Coast regional sales manager Will Hatcher. “Arranging dewatering equipment and service beforehand can ensure equipment is available, minimizing damages, help a business get up and running again more quickly and save stakeholders thousands or even millions of dollars.”
