JCB’s recently established light equipment division obtained its biggest order, a deal from The Netherlands-based rental company Bo-Rent for almost £500 million (almost U.S. $820 million) for 290 machines, including rammers, forward and reversible vibratory plate compactors, and rapid blow tampers.

JCB’s recently established light equipment division obtained its biggest order, a deal from The Netherlands-based rental company Bo-Rent for almost £500,000 (almost U.S. $820,000) for 290 machines, including rammers, forward and reversible vibratory plate compactors, and rapid blow tampers.

“This represents the single largest deal to date for JCB Light Equipment and it is testament to the high quality and robustness of our products that one of Europe’s leading hirers has placed this order,” said JCB sales operations director Chris Spring. The division last year began manufacturing at the £7 million (U.S. $11.4 million) JCB Attachments factory in Uttoxeter in an effort to grow its share of the expanding light equipment market. The equipment is produced under the JCB Vibromax brand.

Bo-Rent was founded as a hardware store in Amsterdam in 1974 and has grown to 65 branches in Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg.
