Alan Huber, president of Elms Equipment Rental, Brawley, Calif., last week announced that he and his brother Mark Huber have purchased the company. As part of the transaction, they also consolidated ownership of a related entity Quintet Leasing, and purchased the assets of EEL Inc., a related company.

Elms also has branches in El Centro and Indio, Calif. The company provides a broad range of construction services, including rental (operated and bare), trucking and equipment service. Elms also sells parts, supplies and equipment and is a dealer for Ingersoll Rand, Rubblemaster and Honda.

The two brothers have managed Elms for a long period of time and guided the company through a major growth period over the past 15 years. “This transaction provides us with the capital and flexibility to continue to grow the company,” said Alan Huber. “We believe both our customers and employees will benefit from the change of ownership.”

Glen and Sharon Huber, long-time owners of Elms and EEL and parents of the brothers, are retiring from the rental industry after more than 40 years.

Hageman, Stansberry & Associate, based in Cameron Park, Calif., and Arlington, Texas, served as intermediaries in the transaction.

“The Elms companies have a long-standing relationship with HS&A,” added Huber. “They went above and beyond the call of duty to make this transaction a reality.”
