Holt Cat, the Caterpillar dealer for south, central, north and northeast Texas, has named Peter J. Holt machine division general service manager. Holt is the son of Holt Cat owner and CEO Peter M. Holt, and a fifth generation descendant of Benjamin Holt, who developed the first successful track-type tractor in 1904.
In his new position, Holt will be responsible for all service operations in the organization’s heavy equipment division. Holt has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, successfully completed an extensive leadership training program at Holt Cat and is a recent graduate of the Caterpillar Inc. Marketing Training Program in Peoria, Ill.
Holt Cat also named Shane Smith product support sales representative for the Texarkana, Texas, area. Smith will be responsible for promoting Holt Cat equipment parts and service support to customers in Texarkana and the surrounding East Texas region.
Based in San Antonio, Holt Cat is No. 17 on the RER 100.
