PARK RIDGE, N.J. — Hertz Equipment Rental Corp. has acquired DW Pumps, a pump rental specialist based in San Leandro, Calif. Founded in 2003, DW Pumps also has a branch in Sacramento, Calif.

DW Pumps' fleet includes large submersible pumps, diesel auto priming and high-pressure pumps, generators, auxiliary fuel tanks, electric transformers and product accessories.

“With the acquisition of DW Pumps, HERC continues its diversification strategy of expanding into specialty services and products for a broad range of equipment rental customers,” said Mark Frissora, Hertz chairman and CEO. “DW Pumps specializes in providing pump solutions for industrial, municipal and construction customers on the West Coast.”

HERC estimates the pump product and service market in the United States at $600 million, and expects DW Pumps to generate about $6 million in new revenues for HERC during 2012. It expects that business to top $10 million as the business is expanded throughout California.

HERC offers custom programs and equipment through its specialty service groups: Industrial Plant Services, Pump and Power Services, Aerial Services and Government Services.

Based in Park Ridge, N.J., HERC is No. 4 on the RER 100, and has about 325 locations in the United States, Canada, China and Europe.
