IronPlanet, online marketplace for buying and selling used heavy equipment and trucks, named Gord McDougall managing director, Canada, Cat Auction Services. McDougall, best known as president and general manager of Finning’s Cat Rental Store program, will be responsible to help expand IronPlanet’s reach in Canada and continue to build momentum for its Cat Auction Services marketplace.
McDougall will also be responsible for managing and growing IronPlanet’s Cat Auction Services business, and leveraging its IronPlanet and TruckPlanet marketplaces across Canada. He rounds out IronPlanet’s team in Canada, reporting to Matt Bousky, IronPlanet’s vice president, global mining and Canada, and working with Sue McGregor, IronPlanet’s managing director, Canada.
“Gord is a great addition to our team and he’s a perfect fit for this leadership role as we grow our business in Canada,” said Bousky. “Gord has many years of experience leading businesses and building relationships across Canada as well as building extensive contacts across the Cat dealer network. I am confident that through Gord’s leadership we can accelerate IronPlanet’s and Cat Auction Services’ growth in the Canada marketplace.”
McDougall has more than 30 years of experience in the heavy equipment industry, including 21 with Finning Canada, a division of Finning International, the world’s largest Caterpillar dealership. As president and general manager of the rental division, McDougall led a team of 430 employees across 30 locations. Before that, he was corporate remarketing manager for Finning Canada and held a variety of sales and management roles.
