Equipment Depot has selected UltiPro to consolidate its payroll, human resources, compensation management and recruitment. UltiPro is made by Ultimate Software, which specializes in human capital management SaaS solutions.
Equipment Depot, based in Houston, sells, services, rents and provides parts for forklifts, aerial lifts and earthmoving equipment. The company has grown through a number of acquisitions, and now employs more than 1,450 people in 13 states. According to vice president of human resources Leora Kirby, the company was challenged to unify its widespread operations.
“We had multiple payroll systems across our various business units,” Kirby said. “Since we’re in the process of combining five companies into one, we wanted one centralized payroll solution that could accommodate our current needs as well as keep pace with our company as we grow in the future. We were looking for a high-caliber HCM platform with a single database, 24-7 Web accessibility for our workforce, and end-to-end functionality. Plus, we wanted to take advantage of SaaS innovation because it saves us the costs of running, maintaining, and supporting a technology solution on our own.”
Equipment Depot primarily operates in central Texas, southern Oklahoma, western Louisiana and the Texas-Mexico border region; eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware; southern Ohio, eastern Kentucky and northern Tennessee; and Illinois and northwestern Indiana.
Equipment Depot is No. 20 on the RER 100.
