We decided the end of the year would be a good time to pass along our staff’s picks for the top 10 news stories for 2008. Well, we narrowed it down to 12, so it’s the top dozen. Scroll down and check it out.

We expected this week to be a short news week, with a lot of people and companies taking off for the holidays. As you can see from the top headline, there may not be a huge quantity of stories this week, but with a major 9-location distributor/rental company in the western United States being acquired, and a Canadian rental company raising CAD $4.6 million in a unit offering, that’s not minor news.

We hope you enjoy our last edition of 2008. We thank you for reading us every week. We hear from a lot of you and we always welcome your feedback. We’ll continue to be there for you providing news throughout 2009, through good times and bad.

Better economic times will come — we don’t know when but we all hope together. Best wishes for a healthy and happy holiday season from all of us at RER.
