May 16, 2014

Deere & Co. is planning to expand its Waterloo campus with a $39.8 million investment in its tractor-testing labs, desmoinesregister.com  has reported. The report said the company will appear before the Iowa Economic Development Authority Board looking for help with the project, which includes an addition of 61,820 square feet for two new buildings, additional testing equipment and infrastructure upgrades.

Deere has called its Waterloo Works campus the biggest tractor factory in the world, the article noted. It added that Iowa provided Deere with $14.8 million in tax credits in 2010 for a $90 million investment at that location to modernize the plant.

John Deere also has plants in Dubuque, Ankeny, Ottumwa and Davenport, Iowa.

Deere & Co. is headquartered in Moline, Ill.
