Heavy Equipment Rentals LLC, based in Corona, Calif., has acquired All American Rentals, a four-location rental company based in the San Francisco Bay area city of Newark, Calif.

Heavy Equipment Rentals LLC, based in Corona, Calif., has acquired All American Rentals, a four-location rental company based in the San Francisco Bay area city of Newark, Calif. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

HER was established in 1999 in Corona, Calif., and is a wholly owned subsidiary of New Zealand’s Porter Hire Ltd. The Porter family has been a leading New Zealand earthmoving machinery sales and service provider for more than 75 years, offering machine sales, rentals, parts and transportation services for construction, mining and the rental industry. Today the Porter Group has eight major nationwide companies that trade worldwide. The Porter Group has a rental fleet of more than 2,500 units and 30 locations.

All American Rentals, owned by industry veteran Mike Carter, has been in business since 2000. All American’s San Francisco niche operations were not part of the sale. AAR also has branches in San Jose and West Sacramento. Carter will remain with the company as Northern California region manager.

“It was a difficult decision to sell the company, but with the strength and backing of the Porter family along with my background in heavier equipment, it was a really solid fit with HER and I’m thrilled for our employees and our customers alike,” said Carter.

HER also has branches in San Diego and Pacoima, Calif.

Fred Hageman, principal of Rental Acquisitions LLC, facilitated the transaction and represented All American Rentals.
