The world’s largest construction equipment trade fair will open later this month and will be even larger this year than its last record-breaking show. To be held in Munich April 23 – 29, more than 3,000 exhibitors from 49 countries will exhibit in a 540,000-square-meter area that features 16 fully booked exhibition halls in addition to a large outdoor area.

This year’s show surpasses the 2004 show in size with the addition of 15,000 square meters of additional hall space and 25,000 square meters of additional outdoor space. Exhibitors from China, Russia and Japan have increased their exhibit space fivefold and from India fourfold.

More than 416,000 visitors attended the 2004 show, and organizers expect this year’s show to surpass that number. Nearly 30 percent of the attendees came from outside Germany.

The United States will have its own international pavilion, as will Brazil, Canada, China, the Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Great Britain, India, Korea and Spain.
