The American Rental Association last week announced it is sponsoring a team in the Construction Challenge, a joint endeavor of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers and Destination ImagiNation. Members of the ARA Construction Challenge team will compete against nearly 60 other teams at the national level in March 2008 at ConExpo-Con/Agg in Las Vegas. During the contest, teams of talented high school students from across the United States will work together to master segments on infrastructure awareness, construction-related jobs and construction equipment and manufacturing.

The sponsorship of a team at the Construction Challenge supports ARA’s rental careers initiative, which helps job seekers better understand what the rental industry is and what it offers as a career.

“We are proud to sponsor a Construction Challenge team,” said Chris Wehrman, ARA’s CEO and executive vice president. “Rental is a fast-growing field that can offer a dynamic and exciting career path to men and women. This sponsorship is an excellent opportunity to promote the equipment rental industry to students who are positioned to make career choices in the near future.”
