ARA Foundation and ARA of Colorado Donate to Colorado Flood Relief Efforts

Oct. 2, 2013

The American Rental Association of Colorado made a donation of $500 to the American Red Cross for assistance with flood relief efforts in that state. With matching funds from the ARA Foundation and an additional $2,500, voted on by the board of trustees, a total gift of $3,500 was given for disaster recovery in the area.

“The ARA Foundation is here to help our members and the communities they serve,” said Catherine DeBusk, CERP, vice president of Party People Rentals in Phoenix, who serves as chair of the ARA Foundation board of trustees. “We had unanimous agreement that this was a great way to use the ARA Foundation’s funds because if our members’ communities aren’t thriving, our members can’t survive and thrive. These funds for the American Red Cross will help those in need. The ARA Foundation is glad to be able to offer this outreach in these types of disaster situations.”

The disaster recovery program began in 2010 with the goal of offering assistance for rental businesses and their communities affected by a natural disaster. In the past year, this program has donated funds for relief and recovery efforts from Hurricane Sandy, the wild fire disasters in Arizona as well as the flooding in Alberta, Canada.
