The American Rental Association and National Equipment Register are accepting nominations for the ARA Insurance/NER Theft Award, an honor bestowed upon an individual who has helped the equipment rental industry fight equipment theft.

The sixth annual ARA Insurance/NER Award will be presented during a ceremony at The Rental Show in Las Vegas, Feb. 27-March 2, 2011.

The ARA Insurance/NER Award was established to highlight heavy-equipment theft recovery and the hard work of law enforcement personnel to prevent theft and recover stolen equipment. The award recognizes a sworn law enforcement officer or a civilian support person who has “performed exceptional service to the rental industry through the recovery of rental equipment or through theft-prevention initiatives.”

The recipient will receiveround-trip travel and accommodations to The Rental Show and a commemorative plaque. In addition, a $1,000 grant will be awarded to the recipient’s department to aid in equipment-theft investigations.

Nominations may be submitted by Nov. 1 to Alysia Ryan at ARA by e-mail at [email protected] or Stacy Kaufman at NER by e-mail at [email protected].
