July 15, 2014

The American Rental Association, Moline, Ill., and the Association of Equipment Management Professionals, Glenwood Springs, Col.; have formed a partnership agreement to cooperate as organizations in the areas of information exchange, education/training opportunities or research initiatives that are appropriate for the membership of each group.

ARA and AEMP will strengthen one another’s programs by providing recommended topics or speakers for their respective annual conferences and acknowledge subject matter or recommend experts for articles or communication pieces for use by the organizations.

“Equipment fleet management is a key element to running a profitable equipment rental business and AEMP has excellent education, certification programs, and conferences that provide quality professional development for equipment management professionals,” said Christine Wehrman, ARA executive vice president and CEO. “The AEM/AEMP Telematics Standard is a great example where they’ve focused on creating industry technology standards that can advance efficiencies in ARA member fleets.”

Appropriate industry research will be identified and implemented by the organizations as they continue their collaboration.

“AEMP’s certification tracks, specifically the AEMP Certified Equipment Manager certification, is a perfect fit for ARA’s members who are managing heavy equipment rental fleets,” said Stan Orr, AEMP president and chief strategy officer. “Over the years, we’ve witnessed an increasing number of professionals from the heavy equipment rental industry attending AEMP’s Annual Conference and Fall Asset Management Symposium and expect that trend to continue. Our two organizations have a shared value of highly educated individuals for the equipment management profession.”
