Norwalk, Conn.-based SmartEquip last week announced that Sullair Corp., an international manufacturer of compressors, has joined the SmartEquip network. Sullair is a subsidiary of Hamilton Sundstrand Corp., a United Technologies company.

SmartEquip’s mission is to link construction equipment manufacturers, dealers and fleet owners to improve transactional and operational efficiency, increasing utilization and uptime while reducing cost. The SmartEquip network is a platform that reaches directly into the rental and fleet management systems of key rental industry customers, creating a valuable convenience for this group of users and a high ROI for the OEM. By connecting supplier and rental company business systems, the SmartEquip network is designed to deliver speed, accuracy and efficiency to both the equipment supplier and the equipment owner.

Sullair, a major supplier of portable air compressors and contractor tools to the rental industry, has selected SmartEquip’s SE Parts and Service application to enhance its aftermarket product support offerings to its customers. The application will be integrated to the JD Edwards enterprise resource planning system, providing Sullair users the ability to query part availability and pricing, and to place orders with Sullair directly from their own fleet management systems quickly and accurately.

“SmartEquip’s technology will enable us to upgrade the level of product support we can provide to our clients, while eliminating costly, inefficient internal processes,” said John Thompson, vice president and general manager of Customer Care by Sullair.
