RSC Equipment Rental last week announced it is teaming up with the Wichita, Kan., Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to host “Educating Today, Building Tomorrow,” a seminar built for subcontractors that emphasizes the topics that affect minorities in the workplace. The event will take place Wednesday, March 11, from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at RSC Equipment Rental’s west branch, 9127 W. Kellogg Drive, Wichita, Kan.

The event itinerary includes several speakers, covering topics such as bonding, insurance and certification requirements covered by general contractors in the Wichita area, a presentation by OSHA on jobsite health and safety, and up-to-date certification and immigration laws addressed by an immigration attorney.

While the event is tailored for minority subcontractors, those with interest in the contracting industry are also invited to attend.

“We at RSC believe it’s important for those that attend to gain the knowledge to be competitive in working with larger general contractors and to achieve a competitive edge when bidding on large-scale projects,” said Sean Zernickow, outside sales representative for RSC Equipment Rental.

RSC Equipment Rental, based in Scottsdale, Ariz., is No. 2 on the RER 100.
