The Association of Equipment Management Professionals, the organization for asset management professionals of off-road fleets, recently introduced an online learning center designed specifically for fleet asset managers. The program, AEMP University, officially launched at the 29th annual Spring Management Conference, held in conjunction last month with ConExpo in Las Vegas.
AEMP University is an online-based education program that provides participants with the same high-quality learning opportunities and peer-to-peer interaction found in traditional schools, yet in a format designed to be convenient, flexible and financially viable.
“Evolving economic conditions have challenged the traditional paradigm of education,” said Jim Phillips, AEMP vice-president of Education. “More often, the constraints of time and financial resources are impacting how a learner receives and utilizes education. AEMPU was designed to address those issues, while still providing a quality educational opportunity for our industry’s professionals who are seeking advanced knowledge.”
Online courses are available covering the 17 core competencies identified by AEMP as necessary to be an effective equipment professional. Each competency has distinct learning objectives, and is spread out in four learning levels, from entry-level “boot camp” to the executive and more strategic level. This allows AEMPU to effectively serve all professionals, from those just entering a career in the equipment management industry, all the way up to the most seasoned asset management specialist.
To further enhance the program, AEMP partnered with ImagiLearning Inc., a company that specializes in virtual world technology, to help connect students to the program, and give a more interactive, real-life university feel, and a more enjoyable overall experience.
