Gehl introduces the RS5-19 telescopic handler, an addition to its RS Series product line. The RS5-19 is designed with a compact frame and tight turning radius of 11-feet, and can maneuver in low buildings and confined jobsites. It has an overall height of 6 feet, 4 inches and the boom reaches to a height of 19 feet, 1 inch. Internal wet disc service brakes are standard equipment along with a spring-applied, hydraulic release brake, which is automatically applied when the engine is shut off.

Volvo
Volvo Road Machinery introduces the VR-1056C telescopic material handler. This C-Series model offers a 56-foot, 2-inch lift height and 41-foot, 6-inch forward reach. It is powered by a Tier 2 Cummins engine with electronic controls that are designed to improve power management. The VR-1056C also allows operators to extend the boom to its fullest reach without stabilizer deployment. It can carry 6,000 pounds to 56 feet, 2 inches with stabilizers, and 4,000 pounds to the top without stabilizers.

Caterpillar
The Cat TL1255 from Caterpillar is a rugged telehandler with a 12,000-pound capacity and the capability of lifting 5,000-pound loads up to 55 feet. Its heavy-duty boom has 42.5-feet of maximum reach and a 3,500-pound load capacity at maximum reach with the stabilizers deployed. The TL1255 features a pilot-operated joystick that proportionally controls raise/lower, tilt and extension, three steering modes and 10-degree control of left to right frame leveling.

Lull introduces the 944E-42 telescopic handler, which features 80 inches of horizontal boom travel for accurate load placement. Mustang introduces the model 519 telehandler, which offers 19 feet of lift height and a 5,500-pound maximum lift capacity on a compact frame. The frame of the 519 — with a length of 148 inches, width of 71 inches and height of 76 inches — makes the machine suited for tight jobsites. The unit has an 11-foot turning radius and can fit under a finished doorway. A 64-hp Deutz engine powers the 519, which boasts a two-speed hydraulic transmission for low-end power while providing a transport speed up to 15 mph.

JLG
The JLG model G6-23A telehandler features less gross weight for ease of transport and a compact footprint for crowded jobsites. The G6-23A has a rated capacity of 6,600 pounds and a 22-foot, 7-inch maximum lift height. The telehandler also features all-wheel steering and is powered by a 100-hp Deutz diesel engine with 4-wheel drive giving it 45-percent gradeability. Genie redesigned its GTH 1048 and GTH 1056 (pictured) rough-terrain telehandlers to easily maneuver in tight spaces without compromising reach and lift capacity. Whether they are lifting or setting materials around a worksite, both machines are capable of moving heavy loads, like steel and bricks, with a maximum lift capacity up to 10,000 pounds. The GTH-1048 has 32 feet, 11 inches of outreach and is capable of lifting 6,000 pounds to 48 feet, and the GTH-1056 features an outreach of 41 feet, 9 inches and lifts 4,000 pounds to 56 feet.

Manitou
Manitou introduces the MT 8044 telescopic handler, which lifts 7,000 pounds to the full lift height of 44 feet, and 8,000 pounds to 37 feet. The machine features a welded box-section design boom and increased operating capacities. Rear axle stabilization is provided, which improves stability when the boom is raised more than 60 degrees or when the parking brake is applied. The MT 8044 comes standard with a 115-hp engine with automatic engine shutdown protection. Other standard features include a three-speed power-shift transmission, three steering modes and a quick-attach mounting system.

JCB
JCB introduces two low boom Loadall telescopic handlers, which offer visibility and productivity improvements. All-around visibility on the Loadall 535-125 HiViz and 535-140 HiViz models has improved by 10 percent, particularly to the rear of the machines. In addition, the new machines have a more compact rear chassis, which results in a 90mm reduction in overhang. The models come standard with the 85-hp JCB Dieselmax engine, with the option of a 100-hp engine or, later in 2007, the Tier 3-compliant 130-hp variant.
