Skyjack Division Declines 64 Percent

Linamar Corp., a Canadian manufacturer of a variety of products, including Skyjack, a manufacturer of aerial work platforms, posted a net loss of CA$48.4 million (about U.S. $44.5 million) in the second quarter of 2009. Its industrial segment, which includes Skyjack, posted a 64.4 percent year-over-year decline in Q2, with CA$97 million (about U.S. $89.2 million) in sales compared with CA $150.7 in the second quarter of 2008.

Its industrial segment, which includes Skyjack, posted a 64.4 percent year-over-year decline in Q2, with CA$53.7 million (about U.S. $50 million) in sales compared with CA $150.7 in the second quarter of 2008.

The company attributed the decline to significant global volume reductions as a result of uncertainty in the market and restricted customer credit availability on a global basis.

Skyjack is based in Guelph, Ontario, Canada.
