Komatsu Raises Estimates for Full Fiscal Year

The world’s second-largest construction equipment manufacturers Komatsu recently posted net income of 36.9 billion yen (about U.S. $448 million) for the fourth quarter of 2011, more than three times higher than 10.2 billion yen the company posted for the same period a year ago. Sales increased 24 percent to 442 billion yet.

Komatsu raised its full-year profit forecast 17 percent to about 140 billion yen. The company said it expects its profit to more than quadruple for its fiscal full year ending March 31, as demand in China, North America and South America have exceeded estimates.
