Nissan Forklift Claims Strong Growth in Fiscal 2010

Nissan Forklift Corp. said it posted strong growth and profits in its fiscal year 2010 ended March 31, although its numbers were not made public. The company said its good results were attributable to numerous product launches in 2010, and increased productivity.

“We are pleased with the growth in our market share in fiscal 2010, especially since we were coming off of a particularly challenging fiscal 2009 due to the effects of the economic downturn,” said Peter Kruse, NFC president. “New equipment and aftermarket sales activity were very strong, and we also added six new dealers, strengthening our position in the United States, Canada and Latin America.”

During 2010, Nissan Forklift introduced the SRX, a new reach truck, an advanced pallet truck, and an 80-volt electric rider. The last of Nissan’s electric product line was converted to AC technology during this fiscal year as well. Orders for Class I, Class IV, and Class V Nissan Forklift trucks jumped 40 percent during fiscal 2010.

The company said robotic welding and lasers helped enhance productivity.

Also this year, Nissan Forklift developed several successful dealer programs. “Our dealer partners have been instrumental in helping us achieve this growth, and we are looking forward to continued growth and success moving into fiscal 2011,” added Jim Radous, vice president of sales and marketing.

Nissan Forklift Corp. is based in Marengo, Ill.
