Volvo, Deutz Expand Diesel Engine Cooperation
German heavy engine maker Deutz AG last week said it had extended its 15-year partnership for development and supply of diesel engines with Swedish equipment producer Volvo.
Under the terms of the deal, Deutz will remain the sole supplier of 4- to 8-liter diesel engines for Volvo’s construction equipment, effective 2014 after the two companies’ 15-year agreement expires at end-2013, Deutz said.
Deutz will also deliver engines in compliance with the Euro 3, 4 and 5 emissions standards for Volvo’s commercial vehicles, according to the partnership.
