Sany Promotes Crane Veteran Lanning

Sany has named John Lanning director of engineering and development for Sany crawler cranes globally. Lanning previously held the position of Sany America’s research and development director for crawler cranes. Liang Wengen, chairman of Sany Group, appointed Lanning to the role, which also includes the title of deputy general manager of Sany Heavy Industry. His primary duties will be as director of the R&D Institute of Sany Zhejiang Equipment Co. based in Huzhou, China.

Lanning’s duties will include product development for the domestic Chinese market and global markets. He will continue his work developing crawler cranes for North America.

Sany America’s crawler crane line ranges from the 110-ton SCC8100 to the 550-ton SCC8500. Globally, the Sany crane line ranges from 50 metric tons to the 3,600-ton SCC36000.
