Paladin Completes Acquisition of Magnum Systems
Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based Paladin last week announced the completion of its acquisition of Magnum Systems, effective Dec. 28.
Magnum, located in Tampa, Fla., is a manufacturer of mulching attachments for use in land clearing, right-of-way clearing and site development. Its attachments are designed for applications on a broad array of skid steer, excavator and wheel loader equipment. John Edwards, the company’s founder, was appointed to serve as a consultant with Paladin following the acquisition.
“We are very pleased to announce the addition of Magnum’s market-leading mulching attachments to Paladin’s current line of 12 leading attachment brands,” said Paladin’s president and CEO, Bill Van Sant. “Magnum’s innovative products will significantly expand the company’s family of attachments that specifically target the land-clearing and site-development niches of the markets we serve. Currently, these attachments are manufactured and distributed as Bradco brand products at the company’s light construction equipment facility located in Delhi, Iowa. Design and manufacturing of Magnum products has already been relocated to this facility.”
Marty Sullivan, vice president and general manager of the company’s Light Construction Equipment group will be responsible for overseeing the integration of Magnum products into the group’s design, manufacturing and distribution operations.
“Magnum products will be a great addition to the group’s highly differentiated and innovative attachment products,” said Sullivan.
While still early in the transition phase, the company anticipates increasing the production of a new line of larger Magnum mulcher attachments in the near future. These will target applications on higher horsepower wheel loaders and excavators and may be distributed through the company’s other brand teams.
Established in 1964, Paladin, formerly Attachment Technologies, has nearly 1,500 employees worldwide and is one of the United States’ largest independent manufacturers and distributors of construction attachment products. Paladin products are produced under national brand names including Badger, Bradco, C&P, FFC, Genesis, Harley, JRB, Jewell, McMillen, Pengo, Sweepster and The Major.
