NMHG Adds 400 Workers in North America
NACCO Materials Handling Group (NMHG), the makers of Yale and Hyster lift trucks, announced the addition of 401 workers for the company’s Sulligent, Ala.; Berea, Ky.; Ramos Arizpe, Mexico; and Greenville, N.C., lift truck manufacturing facilities.
“We’ve been waiting for this day for quite some time,” said Jonathan Dawley, vice president of marketing, NMHG. “Thanks to great leadership, preparation and the hard work of our employees, we were able to weather this recession and position ourselves to respond to the economic rebound. Even during one of the worst recessions in history, NMHG launched eight new product lines. We aren’t ready to say that the economy is totally out of the woods yet, but we feel that we are in a solid position to take advantage of the rebound that is occurring. We’re very happy to play our part in putting Americans back to work.”
In addition to adding 401 workers, NMHG is adding third shifts to certain areas, and assembly plants in Berea, Ky., and Greenville, N.C., are starting up second shifts in painting and select assembly lines to meet expected ongoing demand and to reduce lead times.
Headquartered in Cleveland, NMHG employs approximately 4,500 people worldwide and is a wholly owned subsidiary of NACCO Industries.
