MK Diamond Products Acquires Sawtec Brand

MK Diamond Products last week announced that it has acquired the Sawtec brand from Blastrac NA. The Sawtec brand provides contractors with a range of dust-free tools and grinding accessories for surface preparation and concrete repair. Sawtec will be marketed as a sub-brand of MK Diamond.

“Our companies share similar values; we both are committed to innovating to improve our product lines for the benefit of our customers,” said Brian Delahaut, vice president, MK Diamond Products. “Restoration and concrete repair is an ever increasing business. This acquisition provides MK Diamond with a new line of products and marketing opportunities.”

“MK Diamond and Blastrac’s management have been in discussions for quite some time on this acquisition,” said Stephen Klugherz, global vice president. “The acquisition of Sawtec by MK Diamond will allow Blastrac to focus on its core resurfacing products and customers needs.”

The Sawtec product line includes surface preparation equipment, dust-free tools for cutting and widening joints, grinding accessories and shrouds. These products are designed for contractors, public works departments, rental companies and other cutting/demolition professionals.

Headquartered in Torrance, Calif., MK Diamond Products, a family-owned business since 1868, is a global provider of construction equipment and cutting accessories.
