Komatsu Seeking U.S., Europe Acquisition Opportunities, Bloomberg Reports
Komatsu Ltd., the world’s second-largest construction machinery manufacturer is looking for potential acquisition targets in the United States and Europe, Bloomberg is reporting. The company is hoping to conclude a deal within three years, according to Komatsu president Kunio Noji.
The report said the company is looking for parts producers and technology companies that make electronic components and systems to upgrade Komatsu’s hybrid earth-moving machines and mining trucks. Noji also told the news service the company is looking for a manufacturer of underground mining equipment to expand its products.
The current strong yen is contributing to the purchasing power of Japanese companies looking to expand globally.
