JCB Sells 75,000th Machine in India

JCB India last week made history by being the first construction equipment maker to sell 75,000 heavy earthmoving machines there.

Matthew Taylor, group CEO JCB Excavators, also last week inaugurated the state-of-the-art JCB Parts and Technical Training center in the Talegaon Dabhade district of Pune, Maharashtra.

The new JCB Parts Warehouse is fully equipped with JCB parts and attachments. It also houses a Technical Training Center, which is equipped with the latest audio visual aids for built-in service training workshops. This ultra modern facility will provide JCB original parts and world class service to customers.

The 60,000-square-foot facility sits on more than 100,000 square feet of space and the Technical Training Center covers 25,000 square feet. JCB has a total of four warehouses across India.

“To meet the needs of infrastructure development projects planned in the country, our organization is focused on strengthening its product range and after sales support network,” said Sondhi, managing director JCB India Ltd. “JCB’s achievements are a tribute to all my colleagues. With the opening of fourth warehouse in Pune, we have strengthened our after-sales product support network.”

JCB in India is a fully owned subsidiary of JCB Excavators Limited, U.K. It has three manufacturing plants in India — one in Ballabgarh and two plants in Pune.

Since 1980, JCB has sold more than 75,000 machines in India, with one out of every two construction machines sold in the country being made by JCB, according to the company. In 2007, JCB India was the first construction equipment manufacturer in India to cross the 50,000 machine sales mark.
