Cummins Poised for Period of Sustained Profitable Growth, CEO Tells Shareholders 

Cummins Inc. expects significant sales and profit growth in 2011 and beyond as it takes advantage of a number of long-term global economic trends and the recovery of key U.S. markets, chairman and CEO Tim Solso told shareholders this week at the company’s annual meeting....

AEMP Elects New Executive Committee, President/CEO, and Chairman 

Association of Equipment Management Professionals, an organization for asset management professionals of off-road fleets, has elected the new 2011/2012 executive committee members to its board of directors. Each year, AEMP members select top peers from various organizations to lead the board, as well as the new president/CEO who also serves as chairman of the board. Dave Gorski, CEM, equipment manager for K5 Construction, Chicago, was elected president/CEO and chairman of the board. He will serve through March 2012. Gorski’s main goals for the upcoming year are building on the organization’s strategic initiatives, including AEMP University and Green Fleet Certification....

Custom Equipment Wins International Product of the Year Award 

Custom Equipment’s Hy-Brid HB-830 recently received the Product of the Year - Low Level Access Award at the International Awards for Powered Access in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The show, organized by Access International and International Powered Access Federation, had an audience of more than 450 people at the ceremony last month....

EDCO Air Tool Featured on DIY Network’s “Cool Tools” Program

Perkins Opens State-of-the-Art Test Facility in England 

Perkins Engines Co. has invested $31 million in the creation of a state-of-the-art test facility for its current and future products that is now open at its headquarters in Peterborough, England. Over the past three years Perkins has installed 12 new validation cells, a tilt cell and upgraded five existing cells at its Global Engine Development center....

Honda Power Equipment Launches NASCAR Skinit Kit Program 

Honda Power Equipment last week launched the official NASCAR Skinit Kit, an accessory available exclusively for the Honda EU2000i Super Quiet Series portable generator. The new NASCAR Skinit Kit consists of a line of thin, flexible generator covers, each imprinted with official race graphics from one of three racing teams. These new kits follow last year’s launch of the company’s Collegiate Skinit Kit program....

GGC Software Holdings to Acquire Lawson Software 

GGC Software Holdings, an affiliate of Golden Gate Capital and Infor, has agreed to acquire Lawson Software. Following completion of the transaction, the combined suite of Infor and Lawson will create a unique set of industry-specific applications serving more than 75,000 customers and produce a global leader in verticals such as manufacturing, health care, distribution, public sector and hospitality....

Orion Software Completes Management Buyout 

Orion Software completed a management buyout effective April 1. The new management team will be lead by Patrice Boivin, president and CEO, who acted as chief operating officer of Orion Software for the past 5 years. He is joined by Claudio Sorella, director of implementation and Shaun Loubser, director of customer support. Orion’s newly appointed management team brings more than 20 years of experience in successfully implementing software....

Lincoln Electric Expands Money Matters Customer Promotion

Atlas Copco Restructures Business Areas from Three to Four 

The Atlas Copco Group, Stockholm, Sweden, has decided to modify its business area structure to strengthen the focus on specific product and customer segments. Subaru to Expand V-Twin Engine Assembly in Japan 

Subaru Industrial Power Products this week announced it will expand the assembly of its V-Twin engine line, and move production from the current Robin Manufacturing facility in Hudson, Wis., to Subaru’s existing facility in Tokyo. The move will consolidate all engine production to Japan. Vice-president of sales and marketing, Brad Murphy, says the move will increase V-Twin engine production capacity, and will be accompanied by a larger engine inventory at its North American headquarters in Lake Zurich, Ill....

Atlas Copco Appoints Vice President, Investor Relations 

Stockholm, Sweden-based Atlas Copco appointed Mattias Olsson as vice president investor relations, effective May 1. He succeeds Ingrid Andvaller, who is taking up a new position as internal auditor within the company....

AEMP Foundation Selects 2011 National Technician of the Year Recipients 

The Association of Equipment Management Professionals, the organization for asset management professionals of off-road fleets, recently recognized two industry professionals with the annual National Technician of the Year award. The honor has been awarded by AEMP since 1989 and recognizes technicians in both the private and public sectors. This year’s private sector winner was Tom Hellmers from Murphy Tractors and Equipment, Omaha, Neb., and the public sector award went to Ron Bradly of Sarasota County Fleet Services Department, Sarasota, Fla....

AEMP Honors 2011 Fleet Masters Award Winners 

The Association of Equipment Management Professionals, an organization for asset management professionals of off-road fleets, recently awarded two industry professionals with the 8th annual Fleet Masters Award. The winners were recognized at a luncheon ceremony March 21, at AEMP’s 29th annual Spring Management Conference in Las Vegas.
