Linamar to Manufacture Parts in Former Volvo Plant 

Linamar Corp., parent company of aerial work platform manufacturer Skyjack, said this week that it will occupy the Asheville, N.C., factory vacated by Volvo Construction Equipment last year when it transferred production to Shippensburg, Pa. Linamar said it plans to employ up to 400 workers in the plant that was acquired this week by Buncombe County Commissioners for $7 million....

Caterpillar to Expand Hydraulic Excavator Facility in Texas 

Caterpillar Inc. last week announced plans to significantly increase its manufacturing capabilities and capacity for hydraulic excavators that will be produced at a facility now under construction in Victoria, Texas. In August of 2010, Caterpillar announced that it would build the excavator plant in Victoria, investing about $130 million to open the state-of-the-art, 850,000-square-foot operation. Work is underway at the Victoria site, and the latest announcement includes plans for an additional $70 million investment in the Victoria area that will include another 200,000 square feet under roof, and an additional 100 jobs....

Morbark Names New Tree Care Products Manager 

Morbark Inc. last week named Casey Gross as the sales manager for its Tree Care Products business unit.
