Caterpillar Inc. last week announced that it recently reached an agreement with Eaton Corp. to have Eaton’s heavy duty transmission remanufacturing business done by Caterpillar’s Remanufacturing Division. The agreement calls for Caterpillar to remanufacture Eaton heavy duty transmissions at its Summerville, S.C., facility beginning in the third quarter 2009. Valued at $3.6 million with delivery scheduled to begin in August, this is the latest order under a 2006 contract with TACOM for JLG telehandlers.
