GenTran and Winco Announce Co-Marketing Agreement

GenTran Corp. and Winco Inc. recently announced a co-marketing agreement that allows the two companies to exponentially expand their distribution through reselling each other’s products. Beginning this month, GenTran will resell Winco’s line of portable and stationary generators to its electrical distributor customers and Winco will resell equipment to its generator and rental equipment dealers.

With this agreement in place, GenTran customers can benefit from one-stop shopping by ordering GenTran transfers, switches and power distribution equipment as well as Winco generators on the same purchase order. Winco customers can also take advantage of the agreement by placing orders for GenTran transfer switches on a Winco purchase order.

“This distribution partnership brings more than 100 years of combined experience in backup power, and creates a comprehensive product selection that stands up as an alternative to the larger players in the standby power industry,” said Jack Mandula, president of GenTran.

“In the past, our customers tended to think of Winco as just a generator manufacturer,” said Steve Bohlke, vice president of sales for Winco. “But now with the availability of GenTran products to our network of dealers, we hope to change people’s perception of Winco to more of a solutions provider, and helps us provide a better solution for the growing packaged standby system market.”

Based in Alpharetta, Ga., GenTran designs and manufactures standby transfer switches and accessories used in conjunction with backup generators.

Winco, based in Le Center, Minn., has been manufacturing generators since 1927 and offers a broad assortment of generator products, including packaged standby generators, portable generators, PTO generators, two-bearing generators, mobile diesel generators, mobile lighting and accessories.
