Generac OHVI Engine Speeds Dixie Chopper Across Country
Matt Land, national sales manager for Dixie Chopper, recently made the 17-day journey from Indiana to California along Route 66 on a lawnmower to show the power of propane.
Despite difficult weather conditions, he drove the Dixie Chopper lawnmower for up to 12 hours a day. The mower was powered by a 992 cc Generac OHVI four-cycle air-cooled engine.
Dixie Chopper partnered with Generac Power Systems, White Drive Products, Lucas Oil and the Propane Education and Resource Council to sponsor the trip. These sponsors celebrated Earth Day, April 22, by starting the “Clean Cut Across America” with a send-off at Dixie's headquarters in Coatesville, Ind. Stops included the state capitals of Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona with the culmination of the trip on May 10, in Sacramento, Calif.
