RSC Equipment Rental Appoints Vice Presidents

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — RSC Equipment Rental recently appointed two executives to new positions as regional vice presidents over the company's Southern and Great Lakes regions. Combined, the two leaders have more than 30 years of industry experience.

Brent Kuchynka, currently regional vice president of RSC's Canada Region, will be the new regional vice president for the Southern Region, which includes the Texas Gulf Coast area, Louisiana and Mississippi. Jon Wacker, a district manager for RSC in Tampa, Fla., is the new regional vice president for the Great Lakes Region. His new region includes Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, western Ohio, and most of Kentucky and Tennessee.

“Both Brent and Jon bring a tremendous amount of industry knowledge, management expertise, and proven success to their new positions,” said Tom Zorn, president and CEO of RSC Equipment Rental. “They are in very important regions and will play key roles in helping us achieve our vision of becoming and remaining first in mind — first in choice. We are fortunate to have them on our team.”

For the past three years, Kuchynka has led RSC's operations in Canada and successfully shifted the region's focus to emphasize large industrial accounts in order to offset the significant winter downturn in the construction industry. Kuchynka joined RSC as part of the company's acquisition of Arizona-based Valley Rentals in 1996. He held a range of positions before assuming his position in Canada in 2002.

Wacker has been with RSC since 1996 and has held a range of positions, including general manager, area manager, district sales manager and district operations manager. Prior to joining RSC, he owned and operated an equipment rental and sales business.

In other personnel news, RSC Equipment Rental reorganized its international operations to provide added focus to international growth opportunities. Erik Olsson, executive vice president and chief operating officer of RSC, will assume additional management responsibilities with direct oversight of the company's international operations.

“This change will leverage Erik's strong background in international operations,” said Zorn. “We recognize the significant potential to grow our business not only in the U.S. but across North America and this change will allow us to strengthen our operations in Canada and Mexico.”

Olsson has worked for Atlas Copco, the parent company of RSC, for more than 17 years.

In addition, RSC appointed Bruce Rintoul as the new regional vice president for the company's Canada Region, replacing Kuchynka.

Headquartered in Scottsdale, Ariz., RSC Equipment Rental is No. 2 on the RER 100.
