DeWalt this week announced its agreement with Richard Petty Motorsports to sponsor Marcos Ambrose, driver of the No. 9 Ford Fusion, for the 2011/2012 NASCAR season. The No. 9 car will brandish the DeWalt logo, which will alternate between the hood and quarter-panel during each race of the 2011/2012 Sprint Cup season.
“DeWalt is well-positioned to re-enter the sport and partner with Richard Petty Motorsports to sponsor Marcos Ambrose for the 2011/2012 season,” said Jon Howland, director of brand marketing, DeWalt. “We value the opportunity to engage with our end-users through this platform, and we feel that Richard Petty, a NASCAR Hall of Famer and seven-time NASCAR Cup champion, and his race team, will represent our brand well.”
DeWalt’s decision to partner with Richard Petty Motorsports, and re-engage within the sport of NASCAR for the 2011/2012 season, aligns with the company’s overall strategy to build brand loyalty through a robust portfolio of sponsorships with both professional and collegiate sports properties, the company said.
