Case Construction Equipment Supports Chicago Children’s Museum

Case Construction Equipment has signed a two-year partnership in support of the National Science Foundation-backed Skyline exhibit, which opened in November 2007 at Chicago Children’s Museum located at Navy Pier.

“At Case Construction Equipment, we are committed to partnerships within our communities — and our support of the Chicago Children’s Museum exhibit is another example,” said James Hasler, vice president, Case Construction Equipment. “The Skyline exhibit illustrates the use of technology in the construction industry. Plus, it engages the next generation of engineers, architects and equipment operators that will help build our world tomorrow.”

“We are proud to partner this great company with such an innovative exhibit,” said CCM president and CEO Jennifer Farrington. “As Skyline inspires children to create without limits, Case Construction Equipment does the same by taking ideas and turning them into realities.”

The permanent exhibit begins with the Skyscraper Challenge. Children and caregivers can use Chicago’s spectacular cityscape as their inspiration to create the tallest building in Chicago, like the Sears Tower, or one with the most square-footage, like The Merchandise Mart. As they work, a camera will take photographs that families can narrate and make into their own story. They can hear and see their story on a special computer at the museum, then visit CCM’s website to view it at their home or library.

Younger visitors can try their hand in the Construction Zone and create large-scale buildings, vehicles and sculptures. Families can learn about what makes buildings stable at Triangles are the Strongest Shape and witness the Trump Tower being built in the Trump Tower Time Lapse.

Chicago Children’s Museum is a non-profit organization committed to creating a community where play and learning connect. CCM teaches children through hands-on, interactive exhibits and programs.
