Atlas Copco Names Mats Rahmström to Head Industrial Technique

Stockholm, Sweden-based Atlas Copco last week announced that Mats Rahmström has been appointed business area president for the Industrial Technique business area and senior executive vice president of Atlas Copco AB, as of June 1. He will succeed Fredrik Möller, who takes up a position outside the group.

The Industrial Technique business area consists of five divisions in the product areas of industrial power tools and assembly systems. In 2007, total revenues for these divisions were SEK 6.87 billion (about U.S. $1.14 billion).

“Mats has a broad international experience and has acquired extensive knowledge about our business after 20 years within the group,” said Gunnar Brock, president and CEO of Atlas Copco. “He has also proven good leadership qualities from a number of positions in product companies and customer centers.”

Rahmström started at Atlas Copco in 1988. He is currently president of the Atlas Copco Tools General Industry division within Industrial Technique. He previously held positions in sales, service, marketing and general management. Between 1998 and 2006 he has been the general manager for customer centers in Sweden, Canada and Great Britain.

Atlas Copco is an international provider of industrial productivity solutions. The products and services range from compressed air and gas equipment, generators, construction and mining equipment, industrial tools and assembly systems, to related aftermarket and rental.
