Atlas Copco Acquires U.K. Compressor Distributor

Stockholm, Sweden-based Atlas Copco last week announced its acquisition of Compressor Engineering Ltd., a privately owned U.K. distributor and service provider for compressed air equipment, with customers throughout the Northamptonshire and Manchester areas.

The acquired company has 39 employees and annual revenues of about £3.5 million (about U.S. $5.1 million). It offers complete packages in the supply, installation and maintenance of compressors and related equipment.

“Compressor Engineering Ltd. is widely recognized as a leading supplier in its regions, and this move gives Atlas Copco the opportunity to expand our business with a company of both long-standing and excellent reputation,” said Ronnie Leten, business area president, Atlas Copco Compressor Technique. “Acquisitions of this kind are an important part of our strategy as they bring us closer to our customers and strengthen our aftermarket business.”

Compressor Engineering Ltd. will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Atlas Copco Compressors Ltd. and will operate within Atlas Copco's Compressor Technique business area. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

Headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, Atlas Copco is a global provider of industrial productivity solutions. The products and services range from compressed air and gas equipment, generators, construction and mining equipment, industrial tools and assembly systems, to related aftermarket and rental.

Atlas Copco’s Compressor Technique business area develops, manufactures, markets, and services oil-free and oil-injected stationary air compressors, portable air compressors, gas and process compressors, turbo expanders, electric power generators, air treatment equipment and air management systems.
