Deutz AG produced the 2 millionth engine at its plant in Cologne-Porz, Germany. The engine was a model 1013, one of a number of Deutz engine models produced at the plant, which was inaugurated in 1993.

In December 2006, Deutz moved its headquarters into an office in Cologne-Porz, which now houses the assembly plant and the main research and development work for Deutz compact engines. Of Deutz’ total workforce of about 3,800 people, 1,600 are employed at the Cologne-Porz facility.
