Hertz to Develop Electric Vehicle Program

The Hertz Corp. this week announced plans to bring the next generation of electric vehicles to the general public through its car rental and car-sharing operations. The company plans to roll out the EV rental program in the United States and other countries beginning in 2011. The company plans to form an EV grid in the coming months.

Hertz plans to build on the EV grid and explore new opportunities, including potentially involving Hertz Equipment Rental into its Hertz Global EV program.
