Speedy Lifting, a specialist division of Speedy Hire PLC, the United Kingdom’s largest rental company, has launched a nationwide test, inspection and repair service for lift equipment operators.

A team of accredited engineers will proof load test a customer’s lifting equipment, both on- and off-site, and manage examination schemes for a wide range of lifting equipment assets using Internet and handheld technology. Examination schemes provide an auditable process for inspection, which form a key part of the lifting operations and lifting equipment. If the examination identifies any maintenance requirements, the same team can offer a rapid-response service to repair or refurbish the equipment, including on-site servicing, 24-hour emergency cover and maintenance contracts.

The London test, inspection and repair team was recently contracted by Transport for London to inspect the wire ropes on the road bridges on the Woolwich Ferry in Greenwich.
