Speedy Hire, the U.K.’s largest tool and equipment rental company, has launched a new online sales channel — SpeedyRetail.com — allowing customers to purchase consumables, accessories and small tools. The website will offer more than 3,000 products and all orders placed before 3 p.m. will be delivered the next day.

Speedy will also be offering a new range of consumables and accessories called 4site.

“We have sold a limited range of consumables and small items from our depots across the country for a number of years now, so a joined up national sales channel is the logical next step to give an improved customer offering,” said Wendy Bates, sales and marketing director, retail, at Speedy. “Changes in customer buying habits and a significant investment in our IT platforms mean we are expecting to generate a lot of demand in this area. We will be capitalizing on our strong purchasing power and making rapid price adjustments in response to competitor and market activity, to ensure we are offering our customers the best possible prices.”
