Speedy Invests £1 Million in Low-Level Access Equipment
Speedy Hire, the leading rental company in the United Kingdom, said it has invested £1 million (about U.S. $1.56 million) in a new range of low-level Youngman’s BoSS access towers, scaffold towers and powered access platforms (personnel lifts). The products include the modular aluminum Clima, the fiberglass Zone 1 GRP, which can be used in hazardous environments such as near overhead power cables and the new Cam-Lock Advance Guard Rail.
Speedy claims to have the U.K.’s largest range of low-level access equipment and runs 28 specialist access depots nationwide. The company also provides a free low-level access selection guide, with assembly instructions. It also offers training courses to customers on how to work at height safely, with aerial accidents still the biggest cause of fatal accidents and serious injuries on construction sites.
“This is our second major investment into new low-level access equipment this year as we remain committed to maintaining the quality of our fleet,” said Andy Connor, Speedy’s supply chain director. “Low-level access solutions are becoming increasingly popular as they can be adapted to many different situations, and they can also be a safer way of working than using ladders.”
Speedy Hire is based in Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside, U.K. The company has 325 fixed locations, along with a number of onsite facilities at client locations. It operates in the U.K., Ireland and the Middle East.
