Speedy Hire, the U.K.’s largest equipment rental company, has signed a two-year £6 million (about U.S. $8.7 million) sole supplier agreement with one of the country’s leading mechanical and electrical contractors, Southern Electric Contracting.
Speedy will provide a range of tools and equipment including generators, site accommodation and aerial work platforms.

“We are committed to working with our customers as an integrated supply chain partner, providing simple, efficient solutions for complex hire requirements and valuable management information,” said Colin Harris, national account manager for Speedy Hire. “This strategic partnering agreement underlines our plans to further expand beyond our traditional construction customer base.
Southern Energy has annual volume of more than £306 million.
Speedy Hire is based in Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside, England.
