Speedy Hire, the U.K.’s largest tool and equipment rental company, has extended an existing preferred-supplier arrangement with customer Galliford Try Plc, through 2015.
Under the agreement, Speedy will be Galliford Try’s first choice to supply tools, safety equipment, lifting and survey equipment on a nationwide basis. A bespoke hire desk has been created within Speedy to provide Galliford Try with a single point of contact for order, administration, management information and payments.

The extension of the relationship has particular value to Speedy because it is the company’s longest-standing preferred supply agreement dating back to 1996 when Speedy purchased the then-internal fleet activity of Vine Plant.

With the extension in the service portfolio Speedy anticipates that the contract could have a value up to £20m (about U.S. $29 million) over the term of the agreement.
