Speedy Hire, the U.K.’s largest tool and equipment rental company has entered into an agreement to provide an onsite rental facility to Mace, the construction company building the Shard development in London. Speedy will be the preferred supplier for a range of tools, equipment and training for the 310-meter- (1,017-foot-) tall building, currently under construction for completion in 2012, and set to become Europe’s tallest building.
“With an onsite facility, we can provide a whole range of services, including hire, training, repairs and servicing, from one central location,” said David Graham, Speedy’s managing director for U.K. hire. “We have onsite facilities at numerous high-profile locations throughout the country providing immediate access to the right equipment in position, bringing substantial ‘green’ and productivity benefits. We’ll also be providing Mace with training and our award-winning toolbox talks on this project, supporting the company’s commitment to promoting health and safety best practice.”
