Speedy Doubles Electronic Invoices
U.K. rental giant Speedy said demand for paperless invoicing has doubled since 2008. The business reported half a million electronic invoices have been sent to Speedy customers following the development of the paperless system two years ago with Causeway, an eTrading service designed to streamline the transaction process for customers and suppliers.
Electronic invoices are provided in either euro or pounds. Now 50 percent of Speedy’s customers receive their invoices electronically and Speedy hopes to increase this to 100 percent in the near future.
Speedy said the increase is because of increased awareness in customers of both economic and environmental benefits of switching to paperless invoicing. Through the electronic service, clients are also able to view the delivery status of their orders.
“Paperless invoicing is not only greener, but more efficient for both our customers and our business,” said James Fleming, group IT director at Speedy.
Speedy is based in Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside, U.K.
