U.K.’s Smiths Equipment Hire Opening in Manchester
Smiths Equipment Hire will soon be opening a branch in Manchester, U.K., the Manchester Evening News reported. The Blackburn, U.K.-based company will create 10 new jobs at a rental facility that formerly belonged to A-Plant, the national chain owned by Ashtead, which also owns U.S. rental chain Sunbelt Rentals.
Smiths, which brings in about £4 million (about U.S. $6 million) a year, currently operates branches in Bolton, Preston, Blackburn, Kirkham, St. Annes, Cleveleys and Blackpool.
Smiths is a family-owned rental company, run by David, Thomas and Neil Smith.
