Who says capitalism and Communism can’t mix? Liang Wengen, one of China’s wealthiest people and chairman and co-founder of Sany Heavy Industry, is one of 72 candidates to represent his native Hunan Province at the 18th Communist Party congress to be held this year, Forbes magazine reports, citing an announcement posted at the provincial government’s website.
Wengen, with a net worth of $9.3 billion, is ranked No. 1 on the 2011 Forbes China Rich List.
Forbes adds that Liang could become a member of the party’s powerful central committee.
